Why I Signed

Personal Testimony

We know that no one signs the New England Declaration lightly. At the same time, the decision to sign, for many, is not a difficult one. We are compelled to act by reasons grounded in experience - what we have personally witnessed of God's presence and blessings among GLBT persons. We are compelled to sign by reasons rooted in scriptural integrity that begins with Christ and the living truths of His life, death, and resurrection. We are compelled to add our names to the Declaration because we know through prayer, study, and experience that nothing can keep God's holy spirit boxed-in, not even a vote of General Conference.

We are in the process of building a database of personal stories and witness - where signers and supporters can share "why I signed the Declaration." Please submit your "story" via the email address below and the NED Steering Committee will "load" the story onto this page. When you make your email submission, please include your full name and contact information so we can contact  you prior to "publishing" your article or to answer any questions you may have.  Please also indicate if you wish the submission to be anonymous or have your name, town and state attached.  Note that anyone who signs the Declaration is invited to submit, not just those of us from New England.
