Clarifying and Claiming Progressive Values

Rev. Alberts is Hospital Chaplain at Boston Medical Center, Newton Pavilion, a Unitarian Universalist minister, and a retired United Methodist minister in the New England Conference. His current published articles and essays include: "On Moral Values: Code Words for Emerging Authoritarian Tendencies in Americans" and "On Bended Knee… Faith-Based Deceptions"  and his latest article "Rhetoric in the Air  Reality on the Ground" appeared in CounterPunch February 27, 2005.  Other published articles include: "The Passion of the Christ-Makers" (Z Magazine, July/August, 2004); "All the News That's Print to Fit" and "The Holiday Hoax (The Witness, Nov. 12, 2003 and Dec. 17, 2003). His research reports on mainstream print media's coverage of issues of race and racism have been published by the William Monroe Trotter Institute at the University of Massachusetts -  Boston, and by Sage race relations abstracts, London, UK
